The library of
EGSP has set a vision as “Right information to the right reader at the right
time”.
2.
The Faculty
members and Students of E.G.S.Pillay Engineering College are the members of the
library.
3.
The library is
kept open on all working days & Saturdays (Except on Sundays & National
Holidays) from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
4.
Books are issued
between 1.15a.m. to 2.00a.m. and
after 4.30 p.m., books will not be issued during library hours or class hours
5.
Library tickets
are issued only on producing of identity cards, for a member 10 tickets and B.E.
student 3 tickets and P.G. student 5 tickets are issued.
6.
Each ticket is
meant for only one book.
7.
The tickets issued
are not transferable.
8.
Students are
strictly advised to neatly maintain the books issued and return back within the
due date.
9.
Books are lent to
U.G. and P.G. students for 15 days.
10.
Loss of Tickets - Loss of
tickets should be reported to the librarian immediately. Duplicate tickets will
be issued on payment of Rs.10/- after verification.
11.
The borrower should
either replace the book (only Staff) or pay double the cost at current market
price (Student).
12.
The library user must
produce the identity card when entering the library.
13.
Books will be issued from
the library to the members only in exchange of the library borrowers tickets.
14.
No user shall deface the
library books by underlining, scribbling notes in the margin etc.
15.
All users are requested
to protect library books as their own property.
16.
Books taken out of the
shelves for reference should be left on the reading tables.
17.
Students are not allowed
to carry anything inside the library.
18.
Users found violating any
of the library rules consistently will be reported to the librarian for proper
action.
19.
Periodical publications,
Dictionary, Reports, Proceedings , Reference sources etc.,
20.
All members and the
library staff are requested to observe complete silence inside the library.
Digital Library:
The college also has a Digital library with 5 systems with Internet
connection & Multimedia facilities. We have good collection of 400 CDs at
present. The students should realize that without using the library facilities
they cannot acquire the latest knowledge in their field of learning technical
know how.
