RULES AND
REGULATIONS :
1. General
1.
The Institution is
planned to be a fully residential one.
As of now during the development stage, Hostel accommodation is limited
to those who badly need the same. Admission to the college does not
automatically entitle a student to claim accommodation in the hostel. The hostels, elaborately planned and
meticulously constructed provide a conducive environment for studies, recreation
and camaraderie.
2. Management
of the Hostel
1.
The Managing
Trustee / Chairman of the Governing Body will be the patron of the Hostel. The
Principal is the Chief Warden, directly controlling the affairs of the Hostel.
He is vested with powers to interpret and enforce the rules. He is assisted by
Deputy Wardens & Resident Tutors.
2.
The Hostel is
managed by a Hostel Residents’ Council consisting of the Patron, Chief Warden,
Deputy Wardens, Resident Tutors and Student Representatives.
3.
The Hostel
Residents Council will meet periodically to review the Hostel activities and
make suggestions for improvements.
3. Admission
1.
A student admitted
to the Institution is not automatically eligible to become a member of Hostel.
2.
Application for
admission to the Hostel must be made in the prescribed form. Admissions are
subjected to the approval of the Chief Warden. Application for admission to the
hostel without passport size photographs will not be considered.
3.
Admission to the
Hostel does not confer any absolute right of residence. Any resident may be
required to vacate the Hostel at any time., if circumstances so
warrant.(Admission ordinarily entitles the resident to reside in the hostel
during the period when the Institution is in session and the course work
requires the presence of the student at the Institution subject to the resident
adhering to the Rules and Regulations of the Hostel) The authorities may close
down messes and all blocks of the Hostel during vacations or other periods and
also may require any or all residents to vacate with or without prior notice.
4.
Admission is
deemed to be made afresh every year in the case of all residents and hence
renewal of admission must be sought each year during which a student desires to
continue to reside in the Hostel. Renewal of admission is not automatic.
5.
While every effort
will be made to accommodate all the aspirants in the Hostel, the following
categories of students will not be provided accommodation.
a.
i)
Those who have not cleared the Mess dues of the previous academic year.
b.
ii)
Those who have not paid Mess Deposit and Establishment charges in full.
c.
iii)
Those who are possessing powered vehicles.
d.
iv)
Those who have set a bad record of their behaviour in the hostel.
6.
Every student,
before being admitted to the Hostel shall give an undertaking in writing that
he/she will abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Hostel.
7.
Students admitted
to the hostel shall be full boarder of the hostel.
8.
Every student
admitted to the hostel will be issued a Hostel Membership Card. Students are
advised to keep this Membership Card in their possession.
4. Hostel Fees
1.
Before admission
each student has to pay Admission Fee, Caution Deposit, Establishment and other
Charges, which may be revised from time to time.

In addition to the
above, the residents shall share the electricity and water charges
5. Rooms
1.
Students admitted
as residents will be allotted rooms from among those available at the discretion
of the Chief Warden or Deputy Wardens. Students shall occupy only the rooms
allotted to them. If a resident occupies a room other than the one allotted to
him/her, he /she will render himself/herself liable for disciplinary action and
in addition may be required to pay rent for both the rooms. The Chief warden and
Deputy Warden may shift any resident from one room to another without assigning
any reason.
2.
Radios, TVs and
other electrical appliances must not be used without the prior permission of the
Deputy Warden.
6. Furniture
And Hostel Property
1.
Residents should
not tamper with or damage furniture, electrical fittings and any property of the
hostel. The resident is liable to make good the loss on account of such damage.
2.
Furniture shall
not be removed or moved from the rooms to which they have been allocated.
3.
Outgoing residents
shall return to the hostel authorities the furniture allotted to them in the
same condition as they were entrusted to them, subject to usual wear and tear,
before vacating the premises.
7. Discipline
1.
Discipline in the
hostel will be under the control of the Chief Warden, Deputy wardens & Resident
Tutors.
2.
Shouting,
Whistling or otherwise causing disturbance in the hostel will be considered as a
breach of discipline, which leads to dismissal from the hostel immediately.
3.
Smoking /
consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited.
4.
Students are
strictly warned of the serious and cognisable offence of being in possession of
liquor or drinks or being found under their influence.
5.
Members are not
permitted to convene meetings of any nature in the hostel.
6.
Members are not
allowed to put up posters of any nature in the hostel.
7.
Members shall not
interfere in the work of the hostel staff.
8.
Members shall not
enter the kitchen, Members will not be permitted to enter into conversation with
the kitchen staff.
9.
Students should
not remain in the Hostel during class hours and at other times when their
presence is expected in the Institution.
10.
A student whose name is
removed from the Institution Rolls shall forfeit hostel accommodation and must
vacate the room.
11.
Students shall not
possess any powered vehicles.
12.
Any one found guilty of
ragging or preventing others from attending classes is liable to be expelled
from the hostel immediately.
13.
The Chief Warden is
vested with full powers to expel a student from the hostel. If his/her presence
is considered detrimental to the discipline of the hostel
8. Timings
1.
All inmates shall
return to the hostel premises before 7.00 pm. Study hour will be observed
between 8.00 and 10.00 pm and 06.00 and 07.00 am. It is compulsory for all
students and no student should leave the room during the study hours.
2.
No student will be
allowed to enter the hostel after 7.00pm and the hostel gate will be closed. The
Staff members residing the hostel will have to be back in the hostel before
8.30pm and the main entrance gate to the hostel will be locked at 8.30pm.
3.
On the afternoon
of Sundays and other holidays students may go out on any of his personal matter
after getting prior permission from his Chief Warden/Deputy Warden.
4.
Inmates in boys
Hostel will have free night on all Saturdays (except when specially informed
otherwise).However, they should return
to the hostel before 10.00pm.
5.
Inmates availing
prior permission of the Dy Warden for their absence from the hostel, have to
enter in the register maintained for the purpose, the departure and arrival time.
6.
No deduction in
the mess bill will be allowed unless prior intimation (at least 3 days in
advance) is given and permission obtained from Deputy Warden for an absence of
more than 5 days. Reduction shall be for N-3 days.
7.
Failure to comply
with the above rules may entail expulsion from the Hostel.
9. Mess Rules
1.
The Mess provides
only vegetarian food. The timings are given below.

2.
Mess will be
closed at 8.00 pm and the students should not go to the mess under any
circumstances after 8.00 pm without the written permission of the Deputy warden
concerned.
3.
A siren will also
be on, if considered necessary to remind the students. Students are not
permitted inside the mess at other than the notified times.
4.
Menu for the
students will be planned by a committee consisting of Warden / Deputy Wardens
/Mess Manager/2 or 3 students nominated by the Principal on the basis of
academic performance and conduct. The Mess Manager after duly informing the
Chief Warden/ Deputy Wardens may change the menu when unavoidable.
5.
The Management,
within the amount paid by the students, runs the Mess.
6.
The Committee
should ensure the purchase of high quality rice and materials needed for the
preparation of the food and at the same time decide the menu in such a way as to
be balanced and economical.
7.
Mess charges
should be paid by 20th of every month. Non-payment of dues in time
will entail expulsion of the students from the hostel.
8.
Diners should go
to the mess decently dressed.
9.
The diner must
wash his hands only in washbasins and washing of hands in plates is strictly
prohibited.
10.
Sitting on dining
platform and making noise by talking loudly in the dining hall are forbidden.
11.
Students should not enter
the kitchen or storeroom of the mess on any account.
12.
Students are not
permitted to cook any food on their own in the mess or in their rooms. They are
not permitted to take the food outside the mess also.
13.
Students are permitted to
get their food to their rooms from mess only on production of a certificate from
the college Medical Officer to the effect that the student condition requires
the food to be served in his room.
14.
If any student is found
wasting the food, water or electricity the Chief Warden can impose a fine up to
Rs.500/- on the spot or later. If the student continues to waste, he/she is
liable to pay fine up to Rs.1000/-
each and every time and the parents will be duly informed.Usage of Cell phone is
strictly prohibited inside the hostel premises. If any student is found using
mobile a fine upto Rs. 1000 /- on the spot or later will be collected from
him/her.
15.
Students can entertain
their guests, with prior permission of the Chief Warden/ Dy.Warden. The guest
rates will be as under.
16.
For Parents/Staff/Guests
a.
Break fast
Rs. 20/-
b.
Lunch
Rs. 20/-
c.
Dinner
Rs. 20/-
17.
The above rates are
subjected to revision.
18.
Students found violating
the rules and regulations will face suitable disciplinary action.
10. Guests
1.
Visitors are not
allowed to enter inside the Hostel without prior permission of Dy.Warden /
Resident Tutors.
2.
No person other
than those admitted as residents of the hostel can stay in the hostel premises.
11.General
1.
Hostelers should
deal their complaints and queries with Deputy Wardens only.
2.
Residents shall
furnish details of their Home Address and the names and correct addresses of
parents /guardians at the time of admission and should notify promptly to the
Hostel Office, in case of any change of address
3.
The hostel authorities cannot be held
responsible for any loss or theft of the belongings of the residents. The
residents must make their own arrangements for safe custody of the same.
4.
Any information
required to be notified to the residents will be displayed on the Notice Board
maintained for the purpose.
5.
These rules and
regulations are subject to such amendments as may be found necessary from time
to time and the amendments whenever made will have immediate effect and be
binding on all residents.
6.
Any matter not
covered by the above rules shall be decided by the Chief Warden
